Brian Sabin Student Support Fund - Endowment

The SEG/Brian Sabin Student Support endowment was established in 2018 by his family and friends. The family is working towards raising the minimum funds required to create a SEG Scholarship endowment in Brian's memory. A successful scholarship endowment will include an award preference for geophysics students studying at Brigham Young University, or otherwise selected at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. Currently, the Student Support fund assists efforts with student activities, as a whole.

Challenge Bowl Finals

The SEG Challenge Bowl competition is an international contest testing students' breadth and depth of knowledge about the field of geoscience. All geoscience students are encouraged to participate in this unique event which combines knowledge, competition, and fun.
The World Finals playoff is held in conjuntion with the SEG Annual Meeting each year. Although corporate sponsorship opportunities are available, the event costs are generally more than what is collected. Therefore, by becoming an SEG Foundation program donor, you can ensure that the next Challenge Bowl World Finals will be a success. Donate today.

EVOLVE Program Support Fund

The SEG EVOLVE Program provides subsurface learning projects in an interactive, noncompetitive team environment that fosters global participation. Please visit seg.org/EVOLVE for more information about this program.
In part, EVOLVE is delivered through cloud technology which provides a unique virtual learning experience to university students and early career individuals. Team projects require analysis and application of geophysical/seismic, geologic, petrophysical, and petroleum engineering data and software technology, to support integrated reservoir management, problem solving, and decision making.

Student Support (General) Fund

The Student Support (General) fund is intended to support the preparation of students and emerging professionals for successful academic and long-term careers in geophysics. SEG's student and early career programs provide essential tools and resources for educational enhancement, travel, networking, and leadership training.
Our students' areas of interest and needs are ever changing. Therefore, the Student Support (General) Fund allows flexibility for providing the funding necessary to any given student program when it is needed most. Give back by supporting our future geoscientists today. Please visit seg.org/Student-Early-Career for additional information about SEG's student programs.
